11.–15.02.2012 | .CHB Cinema Total
February 11–15 | Cinema Total – Central European Space
[deutsch]
In collaboration with the Polish Institute Berlin and the Polish Film Institute, .CHB welcomes Central and Eastern Europe to Cinema Total 5. We warmly invite film-makers, producers, sales agents, representatives of film subsidies, film institutes and cineasts from all over the world to gather at the Collegium Hungaricum to discuss and celebrate films from the region.
This year, Cinema Total looks towards the future: exploring the future of filmmaking, film politics and, of course, focusing on the regions of Central and Eastern Europe.
As always, our primary objective is to stimulate networking and connect the film industries within Central and Eastern Europe. Cinema Total's variety of events encourage co-operation within the region and reflect the many aspects of the filmmaking process, from development to production.
After the OPENING PARTY, we launch the professional programme on Sunday with our yearly PRODUCERS' BRUNCH and the FILM-POLITICAL ROUNDTABLE. On Monday, we move on to the creative side of filmmaking with TRUE STORIES, presenting film-makers participating in the Berlin Film festival and moderated by Simon Perry of ACE (Ateliers du Cinéma Européen). On Tuesday, we introduce a new event SEEKING: ROMA* FILM-MAKERS! (* and Sinti, Tsigane, Menouche, Jenische, Gitanos, Travellers, Gypsies...) – a day of panels and screenings with activists, film-makers and director Tony Gatlif (Guest of Honour). Wednesday sees the return of PITCH STOP, with the addition of a PITCH STOP WORKSHOP for participants (supported graciously by a number of consultants from the film industry). We are happy that our friends from the Cottbus FilmFestival and Connecting Cottbus will be returning with the COTTBUS LOUNGE on Wednesday evening before our final celebration, the CLOSING PARTY.
